“Let food be thy medicine…” – #IChooseBeauty Day 949

"Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food." Part of what contributed to my deep depression was having several chronic health conditions. When you constantly feel like crap physically, it takes its toll mentally. One big diet tweak that's helped me feel so much better is giving up dairy in October. It was so hard to give up cheese and ice cream and my whey protein smoothies. But I feel 1,000 times better and have learned to enjoy other foods. Like this - my go to mix every single day - a smoothie made with spinach or kale, fruit and the best tasting vegan protein powder I've found so far.
