What you’ve seen here in my Instagram feed for the past 2,000+ days is a picture of one good thing I notice every day (like these yummy sundried tomatoes that I may have become addicted to lately ). What’s important for you to know is that it doesn’t mean life is all rainbows and unicorns every day. Rather, #ichoosebeauty is a way to train your brain to focus on the good things in life, even when there are bad things… and can be especially helpful if you have depression or are struggling with something in your life.
I’ve learned how important it is to work through problems, not ignore them or shove them down. And while I’m processing things, I use #ichoosebeauty as one of my daily tools to help me cope with depression and anxiety.
I sometimes wonder if I will ever stop posting these pictures, and I honestly don’t know the answer. I know for now, taking a moment to notice something of beauty is like my life preserver, and my daily #ichoosebeauty images keep me afloat.
