It’s a convenient lie we tell ourselves, isn’t it? Or maybe it’s not a lie. Maybe it’s what we really believe.

Hi, I’m Sahar.

I’ve been CHOOSING BEAUTY every day since November 21, 2013. It's hard to believe that the simple act of taking pictures with my phone finally ended my insatiable search for happiness. It can do the same for you. Which photo will be your first? I can’t wait to see.

Some of the mental health tools I’ve collected along my journey:Therapy and meds have been lifesaving, literallyBasic healthy lifestyle things: good sleep, a clean diet, exercise, and minimizing exposure to environmental toxins⁠⁠Meditating (I use Insight Timer)Journaling (I use my Finding Hope journal)My daily #ichoosebeauty practice to notice the beauty in life’s little things every day ⁠⁠Reframing negative thoughts – a great resource for this is The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook Resting without feeling guilty (I’m getting better at this!)⁠Keeping things around that make me feel good – inspirational card decks, music, anything lavender… ⁠⁠ Do I still struggle? Of course, I do. Mental health is a constant battle with your brain. But these tools help me come out ahead most days, and I hope they help you, too. ️
