Focus on what you can control

#MentalHealthMondayHow are you doing today? I'm right there with you, friends. This is unlike anything we've faced before, and it's hard. How we react to the pandemic is essential to our mental health. Right now, what seems to be helping me the most is when I focus on what I can control, but I have to constantly remind myself to do that! Some examples of what you can control include: how much time you spend absorbing the news, social distancing, good hand-washing, boosting your immune system, staying healthy with exercise and nutrition, and connecting with people so you don't feel as isolated. When you focus on what you CAN do instead of what you can’t, it’ll help lessen some of the anxiety this unprecedented situation is bringing with it. I definitely had WAY TOO MUCH news intake the last two weeks, and could feel it stressing me out and making my anxiety soar. This weekend, I tried to only check pandemic updates 1-2 times a day, and it helped so much. Please note: If you need extra support right now, my partner, @mentalhealthamerica has a Crisis Text Line with Crisis Counselors ready to help you cope. Text MHA to 741741. MHA also has a new website with lots of resources and information to help during the pandemic. Just click on the link in my bio and go to the "Mental Health America COVID-19 Support" button.Take good care. xx#ichoosebeauty #covid19news #covid19usa #coronaviruspandemic #coronaviruschallenge #coronapandemic #pandemic2020 #anxietysupport #anxietymanagement #anxietyisreal #lookforthelight #healingjourney #healingtools #healingyourself #healingfromwithin #healingpower #mentalhealthsupport #mentalhealthisimportant #mentalhealthtips #mentalhealthhelp #mentalhealthjourney #mentalhealthcare #mentalhealthadvice #mentalhealthisreal #mentalhealthcommunity #mentalwellness #mentalhealthishealth
