Happy 8 Year Anniversary, Beautycounter!
I’m so proud when I see for myself the results of our work to make the beauty industry safer… like this right here!
One of the nine clean beauty laws Beautycounter has helped pass is Hawaii’s Safer Sunscreen Bill. It went into effect this year, banning the sale of sunscreen containing oxybenzone and octinoxate. Both are linked to coral reef depletion, and have been shown to be harmful to human health.
Since we launched in 2013, we’ve collectively sent over 175,000 emails, made over 16,000 calls, and held over 2,000 meetings with lawmakers, all in the name of better beauty.
Advocacy is a huge reason I’m so proud to be a part of the Beautycounter movement. Our mission to get safer products into the hands of everyone is unparalleled.
I’ve been doing this meaningful work for four years, and I’m an open book. We need more voices, as we continue to push our mission forward!
