2 things that helped reduce my pandemic anxiety

#MentalHealthMondayHow are you doing this week? Are you starting to adjust to the new strange "normal"?I feel like I'm finally surrendering to the situation, and had a little less anxiety last week. Two changes I made:I let myself rest more. My body needed it, and I slept a lot. I gave myself grace, and put off a few things I needed to do that could wait. I cut way back on the time I was spending consuming the news about the pandemic. When things were first coming to light, I was checking the news constantly throughout the day. That was not good for me! I'm now trying to check in just a couple of times a day... and avoiding reading anything about the pandemic when I'm about to go to bed. That was another bad idea. I will keep sharing what's helping me during this time in case it helps you, too. Now, tell me... what's been helping you? Please share in the comments so we can get ideas from each other. 🏽Please note: If you need extra support right now, my partner, @mentalhealthamerica has a Crisis Text Line with Crisis Counselors ready to help you cope. Text MHA to 741741. MHA also has a new website with lots of resources and information to help during the pandemic. Just click on the link in my bio and go to the "Mental Health America COVID-19 Support" button.Take good care. xx#ichoosebeauty #covid19news #covid19usa #coronaviruspandemic #coronaviruschallenge #coronapandemic #pandemic2020 #anxietysupport #anxietymanagement #anxietyisreal #lookforthelight #healingjourney #healingtools #healingyourself #healingfromwithin #healingpower #mentalhealthsupport #mentalhealthisimportant #mentalhealthtips #mentalhealthhelp #mentalhealthjourney #mentalhealthcare #mentalhealthadvice #mentalhealthisreal #mentalhealthcommunity #mentalwellness #mentalhealthishealth

How are you doing this week? Are you starting to adjust to the new strange “normal”?

I feel like I’m finally surrendering to the situation, and had a little less anxiety last week.

Two changes I made:

  • I let myself rest more. My body needed it, and I slept a lot. I gave myself grace, and put off a few things I needed to do that could wait.
  • I cut way back on the time I was spending consuming the news about the pandemic. When things were first coming to light, I was checking the news constantly throughout the day. That was not good for me! I’m now trying to check in just a couple of times a day… and avoiding reading anything about the pandemic when I’m about to go to bed. That was another bad idea.

I will keep sharing what’s helping me during this time in case it helps you, too.

Please note: If you need extra support right now, my partner, Mental Health America has a Crisis Text Line with Crisis Counselors ready to help you cope. Text MHA to 741741.

MHA also has a new website with lots of resources and information to help during the pandemic here.

Take good care.
