How are you doing this week? Are you starting to adjust to the new strange “normal”?
I feel like I’m finally surrendering to the situation, and had a little less anxiety last week.
Two changes I made:
- I let myself rest more. My body needed it, and I slept a lot. I gave myself grace, and put off a few things I needed to do that could wait.
- I cut way back on the time I was spending consuming the news about the pandemic. When things were first coming to light, I was checking the news constantly throughout the day. That was not good for me! I’m now trying to check in just a couple of times a day… and avoiding reading anything about the pandemic when I’m about to go to bed. That was another bad idea.
I will keep sharing what’s helping me during this time in case it helps you, too.
Please note: If you need extra support right now, my partner, Mental Health America has a Crisis Text Line with Crisis Counselors ready to help you cope. Text MHA to 741741.
MHA also has a new website with lots of resources and information to help during the pandemic here.
Take good care.
